On the picturesque rural setting of accelerated insights in Tunbridge we will be combining the power of eco, equine assisted and forest school with cutting edge psychological neuro-affirming techniques
Although research into this area is a growing field, there is a consensus that equine assisted therapy can offer a range of social, emotional, cognitive and physical benefits. Anyone who has gazed into the gentle eye of a horse or sniffed their soft nose can sense their kindness and wisdom and even just sharing their presence can bring grounding and calm.
Forest schools and farm schools are an ever growing phenomenon, especially in the world of alternative provision and EOTAS (Education other than at school). Our project will be drawing on these skills to help young people develop self esteem, confidence and purposefulness
Drawing upon compassion focused techniques and acceptance and commitment therapy we will keep values at our core and support our young people to connect with their sense of self and purpose.
Knowing family is the key support to children with autism we will be offering take away extras to support learning and connection away from group
Research reviews have concluded that being outdoors can be of major benefit to the autistic community. Connecting with nature can have benefits for emotional regulation, sensory integration and social cohesion (Source: national autistic society)
Mind-body techniques, such as mindfulness, yoga, and meditation will also be drawn upon to help families reduce stress, improve sleep, and enhance their overall quality of life.
